In the WUG 15.0 User Guide (p.315) it says "You can learn more about the database structure by downloading the database schema file on the WhatsUp Gold support page (http://www.whatsupgold.com/wugtechsupport)."

I had a look and I can't see it anywhere. Has anyone else been able to find it? Has it moved?

Not sure where the v15 schema is I did find the v12 schema.  It is fairly close, wont be exact but should at least get you started.  http://docs.ipswitch.com/Network_Management/WhatsUp_Gold/v12.0/07_Database_Schema.pdf

Thanks Paul. I had already spotted those - but I figured that things have probably change somewhat since version 12. Also - the user guide says it's there somwewere - so it must be true : )

Hope Jason Williams can get you to the right location.  Like you I can't seem to find v 15 either.

Here is the v14 one.  I am trying to track down v15.

Thanks Jason. Is there a PDF of the WUG v15 schema? (like the v14 one). What you sent for v15 was a help file, and it doesn't provide the same level of detail as the PDF. I think I have the information I needed from the v14 schema, though, so its not urgent. The v15 one would be nice to have for future reference.

There is not one in PDF format.  With the major changes to the interface with the v15 launch, the decision was made to not produce the schema in PDF due to the fact that the majority of the help files had to be adjusted to account for the new interface.  Believe it or not, the PDF version of the schema takes a huge amount of time to produce (I was shocked myself).  I would suggest throwing it into the Product Ideas section.  If enough people vote it up, then of Product Management group will have to make sure that time is allocated for it.

Hi Guys,

You may request the v15 schema and ERD from Tech Support.  We will deliver the documentation, along with terms & conditions, to customers under active Service Agreement.

The schema is not redistributable, so you will need to request it directly from Ipswitch technical support.

With regards to your CHM files not displaying, this is due to some security settings on your Windows system.  The following articles may be of use in enabling CHM files:

Thanks!

Thanks Brian. Going to request it then.

Thanks Brian. I had a quick look through the links you sent, and if I understood correctly the reason the chm is not working properly is that its trying to access help files across the internet, and a  microsoft security update (and probably firewalls) prevents that from happening. From my quick scan through the links, it looks as though the chm would work if the files its looking for were located on the local PC. Is that correct? As the chances of getting the security on our corporate network relaxed to allow the help stuff through are approximately zero, is there any chance that files that  the chm is trying to access can be made available for download? Or should I just request it from tech support?

Also, as all of this started because the User Guide says the database Schema is available online, you might want to clarify that in the next issue of the user guide.

Hi Steve,

The database schema may only be distributed via a tech support request, as it comes with specific terms & conditions and is not redistributable.

The CHM files should work if they're being read from a local drive; if you are under active service agreement and request the schema from tech support you will receive a .ZIP file with two CHM files (WUG & FlowMonitor schema) and two PDF files (WUG & FlowMonitor ERD).

Old thread I know, but I needed to read this CHM file.  Had the same issue where it wasn't displaying content on the right frame.  I right clicked the file, chose properties, and then pressed the "unblock" button at the bottom.  The file displays content now.

Thank you Ron

It worked for me!
