Nexus 5000 Power Supply OID
I have a cisco Nexus5010 Chassis. System version: 5.0(3)N1(1b) I want to monitor the power supplies.
I think two SNMP monitors with the following values will do the job.
OID is: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.117.1.1.2.1.2
instance 470 = power supply one
instance 471 = power supply two
Constant value 2 means the power supply is up (good).
I know both power supplies are good (cisco "show env" command).
My snmp monitors (Nexus_PS_1, Nexus_PS_2) say the power supplies are good.
All of our Nexus 5000 devices are in production, so pulling a power supply to verify that the monitor goes down when the power supply is pulled isn't an option any one likes.
Can any one verify that the above OID and instances are correct for the Nexus 5000 power supplies.

I just did a quick Google search and was able to find a thread on Cisco's community site (link below). From what I read, it looks like you have the correct OID configured for the Nexus devices.
On a side note, there is a built in power supply monitor in the Active Monitor Library. I am not positive that it works for the Nexus devices, but might be worth giving it a shot. If it doesn't work, let me know.
Cisco Support Community Thread - https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/176871
The built in power supply monitor doesn't work on the Nexus equipment.
I also have a Nexus7000: C7010 version 4.2(4).
I'm still looking for the OID for its power supply. If I MIB walk my Nexus 7000 with the WUG MIB walker and the OID listed above nothing is returned.
So I think the built in Power Supply monitor will work on the Nexus 7000. You can quickly tell by doing a walk for this OID - 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.5.1.3. This is from the CIS-ENVMON-MIB, and is the only OID for Cisco devices that the built in Power Supply monitor checks. Looking back at the Cisco community thread, the response marked as the answer actually states that the 5000 series doesn't support that MIB.
I would recommend adding an entry to the Product Ideas section, to add support for the Nexus 5000 devices.
That didn't work. "0 objects successfully retrieved."
I had to walk all the way back to 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9 before anything was read.
Sounds like the 7000 series doesn't support the CIS-ENVMON-MIB either then. I would recommend reaching out to Cisco as it now appears that a third method was used for the 7000 series.
