Hi All,

Is there a way to protect a device agains changes made by "Device Discovery"?
I've Setup my devices and don't want them to be changed by discovery, discovery would add Monitors and Attributes.

Thanks
Willem

I am not sure from that but I don't think that where you can add new devices only. Also, I know that we can edit a file inside the WUG installaiotn folder to exculde devices but I think that it will useful we are going to exclude range or subnet.

Discovery won't add anything until you go into the discovery console and add newly disocvered devices and services to the database.

and even at that point applying a device role wont change its settings i believe

You really don't need to worry about this as mentioned above, but if you're paranoid you could always setup your scan to exclude this IP.

For example, if you want to exclude 192.168.1.100; then setup two scans. First scan 192.168.1.1-192.168.1.99 and then setup your second scan to do 192.168.1.101-192.168.1.255..etc
